New features and research information to come soon!
|
Aircraft have at least two log books – Airframe
recording the maintenance accomplished on the aircraft and Engine recording the
maintenance for the powerplant / engine. There
is also a Propeller log book where Prop maintenance is recorded, but it contains
much less information than the other two and takes very little time to read.
Primarily the research is done in the Airframe and Engine books where
most of the work is recorded. Logbook
research is reading and analyzing logbook entries to determine if all the
Airworthiness Directives (AD’s) and required maintenance items are complied
with or responded to correctly. This
is required to meet the FAA standards for Airworthiness.
It also helps determine if the manufacturer’s specifications are being
met and the appropriate work is being done and recorded. This includes a check for recorded damage history and repair
and a check of any other items that might reflect on the reliability and value
of the aircraft.
